Prayers, meditation and affirmation can be a comfort in difficult times and can give you the strength you need to come through. We offer the following prayers, which we found at www.beliefnet.com, as a starting point. If you would like more ideas, go to www.beliefnet.com.
Father, I belong to you. I place myself anew in your hands and acknowledge you as Maker and Lord of my life. Grant me the givt of a forgiving heart and clease me of any anger, hostility, or revenge. Heal my hurts and teach me to rely on your love. Grant me wisdom of heart and strengthen my by your grace to move on in faith in trust and in love. Thank you, Lord, for your love is my life. -Amen
Prayer of Saint Theresa: May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bonds, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
O God, whose love restores the brokenhearted of this world: pour out your love, we beseech you, upon those who feel lonoely, abandoned, or unloved. Strengthen their hope to meet the days ahead; give them the courage to form life-giving friendships and bless them with the joy of your eternal peace. -Amen.
Lord, be with the family as they transition into two separate households. Let your eternal light radiate throughout both homes, that this child may know your lovingkindness, as manifested by her parents, who love her, Lord. Let both this husband and wife grow strong in our love and live their lives according to Your will and not their own... I also pray for all children of divorce, that they have both their parents in their lives and never dougt for one second that they are loved and cherished and precious in Your signt. thy will be done, Lord, Amen.
Most merciful God, bless all who have suffered trauma in their lives. Support them with love during their time of shock. Grace them with peace as they wrestle with the challenges of each day. sustain them iin hope as they prepare for the days ahead. -Amen.
