APPEALS
We believe that wining a case at trial is what is most important. However, when that is not possible, appeals are the continuation of our battle for our client. In Virginia, appeals from Circuit Courts are difficult to win because great deference is given to the trial court rulings.
William B. Bray has taken a number of appeals and has obtained a reversal of trial court judgments in Brant v. Commonwealth, 32 Va. App. 268 (2000), McCray v. Commonwealth, 00 Vap UNP 1276992, and Johnson v. Commonwealth, 01 Vap UNP 2475002.
Virginia Perry has had experience with state court appeals through her years of law practice as a private attorney and as an Assistant Public Defender in Petersburg. She successfully appealed and won the reversal of a revocation of suspended sentence in Copeland v. Commonwealth, 14 Va. App 754 (1992).
